CVA Hosts 2nd Annual Ag Awareness Day Event with Interactive Workshops

On January 8, 2025, Central Valley Ag (CVA)’s Region 5 proudly hosted its 2nd annual Ag Awareness Day in York, Neb., building on the success of its inaugural event last year.

This year’s event featured a diverse lineup of hands-on and informative workshops designed to educate and inspire students about the agriculture industry. Highlights included sessions on grain engulfment safety with a live demonstration using a specialized trailer, agronomy operations safety, grain markets, ACS Precision Ag, and feed nutrition. Each workshop was carefully designed to provide students with practical knowledge and real-world insights into various agricultural topics.

Students had the unique opportunity to witness engaging demonstrations, such as the grain engulfment trailer, and explore cutting-edge advancements in precision agriculture and feed nutrition. These interactive experiences showcased the breadth of opportunities within agriculture, sparking curiosity and excitement about the many career paths available.

The event saw an enthusiastic turnout of students from York, Aurora, McCool Junction, Heartland, Hampton, Cross County and Osceola schools.

The CVA team worked diligently to plan and deliver an event that was both educational and engaging. “Our goal with this event is to help students see the different careers that agriculture can provide while having hands-on opportunities,” said Chantelle Schultz, a CVA employee. “We collaborated to create enjoyable and informative workshops for the students, and I believe we succeeded.”

CVA’s Ag Awareness Day serves as a testament to its commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of agriculture among future generations, highlighting the diverse opportunities the industry offers while emphasizing the importance of safety, innovation, and sustainability.
